Tri It For Life Triathlon Training for Women - Raleigh, NC

Tri It For Life Raleigh trains for the Ramblin’ Rose Raleigh race in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Our 12-week training program for Raleigh typically begins in February with a Kick Off celebration. We give you A LOT of valuable information at this gathering along with a goody bag. Mentors will be there to answer all your questions and you will get to meet your new athlete friends that will be doing the training and race with you.

Training locations are in the general Raleigh area. Most recently we have used the indoor pool at Ravenscroft School and have cycled/run the first six weeks at Dorothea Dix and then moved to the Baileywick Park to give our athletes plenty of practice on the actual Ramblin' Rose bike course.

This is a tentative schedule based on our previous year’s training calendar. Weekend training will be early to mid-afternoon depending on our venue. Training during the week is in the evenings after work. Please note that as we plan our calendar we may modify it accordingly to offer as many training opportunities for our athletes.

With our athlete assessment period during kick-off week, we will identify those that may need additional pre-season assistance. Those specific athletes will be invited to join the mentors for pre-season swimming and/or cycling training sessions.

One of TIFL’s signature event is the “Course Preview” opportunity. Our athletes, accompanied by the mentors, will have an opportunity to participated in a mock tri day. We will coordinate with the YMCA facility that hosts the actual race and provide all athletes with the opportunity to swim in the actual pool where the race will take place, bike on the race course and finally finish the run on the run course. Our athletes will know exactly what to expect on race day!
